Current Research:

The objective of my PhD is to develop a reliable and high-precision tool for automated perturbative computation of cross-sections for standard model process in nucleus-nucleus, proton-nucleus reactions or any asymmetric nuclear reactions (nucleus/hadron A + nucleus/hadron B) at the RHIC, LHC, including the fixed target programs at LHCb and ALICE. As a baseline I’m using MadGraph5_aMC@NLO, a well-established flexible, robust, high-accuracy (next-to-leading order (NLO) expansion in the coupling constant α(s)) tool for automatic generation of matrix elements and event generation for high energy physics processes in elementary collisions, such as decays and 2→n scatterings for any standard model and Beyond the Standard Model process. Using my extension, I perform studies of the heavy flavor production. It is important because it probes the gluon parton distribution functions in a nucleus (nPDFs), which are poorly known and yet crucial for modelling and interpretation of experimental data.
